Fitzsu Grand Prix – a los angeles based modern tabletop and

home accessories store, invited their favorite designers from around the world, crossing over industries, to create their own interpretation of the original playsam streamliner toy car. On october 19, 2006 the finished one-of-a-kind wooden toys will be auctioned off to benefit the world childhood foundation.

  1. I love these types of abstracted cars and we have many similar ones around the house, but I’ve found our 2 year old son only wants cars that look fairly realistic. In fact the more realistic the better. He loves his construction steam shovel for instance, and the replica of our car (mini-cooper), and of course the garbage truck. He actually holds his cars up to pictures in books and magazines comparing them and noting differences. When he was very young he liked the abstracted cars, but that phase passed quickly… I wonder if later in life he’ll back around to them. In the meantime they are on my desk.
