CreativeMornings at VII

The most recent ‘CreativeMorning‘ was a big success! (Pictures of the event can be seen here.) Thanks everyone for coming out. We had a great turn-out and enjoyed bagels and coffee sponsored by Iridesco, the creators of Harvest, a web-based time-tracking and invoicing application and Co-op. We also enjoyed water supplied by Tap’d NY. Special thanks also to our hosts and presenters, VII.
A big thumbs up to our virtual guest for the event, Pablo Puga from Mexico City

Our presenters were David Lukens (VII Archivist & independent photographer) and Alina Grosman (VII Head of Sales) who talked for a bit about how VII is not only finding new value in their work but also work to capture more material (audio and video as well as photography) when on assignment. Based on some the questions in the discussion it definitely seems that print photography is now a special assignment with digital “film” being the standard. Especially interesting was commentary that perhaps “middle of the road” professional photographers would be pushed out of business leaving only an ever expanding bottom tier and elites.

Given the discussion that came up, Comments Are Open. If you were at the presentation and have something to say, feel free to leave your remarks here.

Mark your calendars, our next CreativeMornings will be on December 12th! A more official announcement is forthcoming.
