So far, I’ve bought one set of “Buckyballs” and ordered eleven different color schemes of Buckyballs and Neocubes. Out of this, three different sets came thru the mail the past two days. So far so good. I just love em; round objects with strong magnetizm to them. I am a collector.

I am very careful with them, I don’t let them drop onto hard surfaces and I do keep them away from children.

neocube.org is a complete knock off of the real neocube found at http://www.theneocube.com/ (absurd flash intro).

The directions they list are clearly stolen from buckyballs.

IMO, Neocube is better than the BB. Not only are they the original, but there are DIFFERENT kinds now! An Omega(1027 spheres), and a gold one. People, BUY THE NEOCUBE!!! It is far superior to the Buckyballs.

We have started to supply Buckyballs (the best!) here in the UK http://www.buckyballs.co.uk so that people here can get in on the craze!

These things are so addictive, everybody in our office has spent hours with them, we even played Buckyball darts on the filing cabinet.

We are happy to supply individual balls as replacements or spares as it can be frustrating if you want to make certain shapes and someone has lost a couple of balls!

Hi all :D

I’ve had my NeoCubes for a few months and still love them.. To bits (pun intended) :P

You might forget about them for a week or two, but when you see/find them, you just can’t help but pick them up and waste your whole day away making odd-looking constructions :)

Anyways, a set that I gave to my boyfriend has held up wonderfully- the plating/coating is amazingly still in place even after being played with regularly (at least 3 days a week), and they’re still pretty strong even after being dropped a couple of times.

If any of you decide to pick up a set (which you should, really!) MAKE SURE YOU BUY SPARES! Even if you think you’re a careful person, BUY SPARES!

I’m in college, and you’d think this wouldn’t fascinate us.. Much.
But it does. Whenever I take my NeoCubes out, everyone wants a piece of them (again, pun intended), and a couple of balls inevitably go missing everytime someone borrows them :(

The last post about the size is critical. Don’t mix the buckyballs with neocube balls. I bought 3 NeoCube sets. One for me, my 9 year old son, and my 7 year old daughter. Amazon has NeoCubes for $20.00 with $5.00 shipping. These are so fun! Endless hours of imaginitive creativity and logic! I don’t think these will be a flash in the pan like pinpressions or plasma globes, because the compinations are endless.

difference of neocube from buckyballs, that neocube spheres is 3/16″ that equals 4,7625mm, while buckyballs is 5mm – and they aren’t compatible!!! beware about it, if you planing expand your spheres!

Hi Michelle!

I just received my NeoCubes today, they seem to be of good quality.. So far. They are pretty strong, but I’m not sure how it compares to BuckyBalls in this respect, since I don’t own any.

I’ll fiddle with them for a couple of days and see how they hold up, and I’ll post the results here!

I just got BuckyBalls and they’re great. However, they are leaving a blueish/gray stain under my fingernails. I’m not sure if I’m playing with them too much, or if the coating really does come off that easily. Maybe NeoCube is better in this respect? I heard the magnets are stronger for these. Let me know if you hear anything else because I want to buy a set for my friend!

How is the coating on Neocube vs. BuckyBalls?

Is the magnetic quality the same?
(Neocube seems to be more pricey!)

I’m really interested in picking up a couple of sets!

I used to own a set of epoxy-coated sphere magnets ordered from supermagnetman, but after a week or so of furious fiddling, the coating started to wear away, leaving ugly patches on either side of each magnet that would stain fingers and clothes.

So.. NeoCube vs. BuckyBalls-
Any differences?

If not I’ll probably go with BuckyBalls :)

The size, grade and coatings of Neodymium magnets varies. If they are too strong or weak they won’t work as well as a puzzle. The thickness and quality of coatings on the magnets is also crucial. If it wears away you should stop using it.
