This Underground Home in the swiss village of Vals has me wide-eyed. What a stunning piece of architecture. And did you see that long dining table? That’s.what.I.want.one.day!

The house is a collaboration between the Netherlands architects at SeARCH and Christian Muller Architects.

(thank you marcel)

  2. I would love to have a dining table like that as well!!!

  3. Original, beautiful, natural. That rocks!

  4. Amazing work, fantastic sympathetic solution with an ‘eye-poping’ view! Great hot tub.

  5. Wow, so modern and so nature-ey. I love the modern look of the inside, but the look of the outside. Great getaway home?

  6. what an AMAZING house! i want one! gorgeous, all of it.

vals must be an interesting place (home also to the vals thermal baths as i’m sure you know, tina: http://www.therme-vals.ch/ ) – will have check it out.

  7. Mindblowing. I’d love to live there.

  8. How long it that table? By counting the chairs and spaces it looks like it is over 16′.

  9. Original ,Beautiful

  10. Looks like a Hobbit home. Because of that, I love it :D

  11. I was just going to ask, were the owners small little people with big hairy feet just back from a long trip to the mountains to dispose of a trinket.

  12. I would love to live there, it is so cool.

  13. I couldn’t help but think of the ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ house, except this is in inverse.

  14. Endlich ein Erdhaus , in dem ich auch gerne wohnen würde, was für eine Freude

  15. Who’s the famous 20th century architect that built houses into hills? i forget his name….

  16. Very swish… I love the way the wood is stacked up alongside the inside of the inner wall.

It will look even better with some grass surrounding it, it suspect it to be newly built and the grass not grown round the circle yet.

  17. Amazing house, actually I like interior most. Look how is it hidden in this small village. Nice.

  18. beautiful and innovative, would love to see some more interior pics ?

  19. Really very interesting – I have to go to Vals to see that house!

  20. unglaublich, die wohnung ist der wahnsinn. da was weiß man wieder, was man in der stadt nicht hat ;-)

  21. I also want a table like that, but for real. This one is the result of an exaggerated perspective by the ultra wide angle lens.

  22. Looks like an ultra-stylish version of Luke’s aunt and uncle’s house in Star Wars

  23. finally some fresh architecture.. wowo!

  24. What a lovely looking home!

It reminds me of the painting with upside down stairs and wonky ceilings.

I’d love to live somewhere like that, and have that view. Inspirational!

  25. Love it…

  26. I always love the idea of a hobbit house. great look, and hopefully energy efficient.

  27. I love this concept and idea, but I feel like its not executed as well. Theres so much raw concrete there is no way that place is not freezing cold- even being underground.
