My Space

Liya Mairson’s cardboard folding play area is designed for children aged 3-6 based around a pop-up technique. ‘My Ppace’ has been developed specifically for small apartments which lack the space for a play room. When closed it uses minimal space and can be stored behind a door or under a single bed. As far as I can tell this is a student project and not yet for sale. Am I right?

  1. Smart stuff, and good looking too. Second place on my list right after Javier Mariscal’s cardboard “Villa Julia”.

  2. Such a pity it is not for sale – it sounds like a very smart idea and a lot of fun!

  3. That is such a bright idea. I considered a play kitchen for my son, but knew it would be a short-lived passion (and we have little room for play sets). This would have been perfect to spur his imagination.

  4. LOVE this!
Added it to my link roundup at my blog today – I wish I had the weekend free to design my own version!

  5. Now THAT is excellent. Look how small it is when it’s folded!

My kids would adore this. Even better you can cart it out to the garden on sunny days as well.

This would/will surely sell like a house on fire and more should be made in a range of styles/combinations. I wonder how much it will cost to buy.

Has it hit the market? It should do.
