Solo – bringing beauty to Project Management

Solo is a new, stunningly designed project management app. The UI is a serious work of beauty. (Hello there, grids!) This app almost makes me want to take on clients again. Hat tip!

(thank you Jerome)

  1. This is so good lookin’.

  2. It looks great! The only downside for me is the price :S

  3. I just signed up for the trial.

There are some [minor] bugs, but they appear to address everything incredibly quickly so I’m not too concerned over those issues being long-term.

The interface alone might finally give me the kick in the pants pay for their service as opposed to just having a folder full of of excel spreadsheet invoices.

  4. The timesheet is really really nice looking.

    I will try it.

    Thank you!

  5. Downside is the price? It’s £5 a month at the moment. Aside from being free, that’s about as cheap as decent software is going to be I’m afraid.

I’ve been using it for a couple of weeks now and find it really useful. Sure, there are a few things I’d improve but Jerome is great at taking on feedback and already has loads of plans in place to develop it further.

I think it is definitely an app to watch for the future and for only £60 a year, one that I deemed worth supporting too.

  6. I have to agree about the pricing..I found another one more useful to me especially for managing projects called teambox. You can organize various tasks and projects at a time, plus you get 3 free projects so it’s great. I really recommend it to anyone looking for an easy and fun way to project management.

  7. what good is a grid if its unworkable because fonts are too small. didn’t they learn to keep font size at browser defaults?

  8. Hmm…I like it – and it’s definitely a ‘now’ idea – but doesn’t Google do this already? Isn’t that free? I DO love the look, but the utilitarian nature of Google and/or free apps with a Mac make much more design sense.

    Like the blog!

  9. What happens if i use it then the company goes bust and looses all my data? They seem to still be building it so i’m not so sure.

  10. They dont have a CRM function.. to bad., looks pretty awesome!
