Wall of Rocker Switches

Valentin Ruhry had the brilliant idea to take 5,000 orange rocker switches you normally see in power strips and transform them into a blank canvas. Oh, the possibilities! #want

  3. This reminds me of a project that I did with my team, or at least the initial stages of our idea! Awesome :)

  4. I would love to have one of these.

  5. This is so unique…this inspires alot of ideas for interesting wall art!

  6. My 8 year old self playing with Lego and Etch-a-Sketch is telling, nay, yelling at me to build one of these.

  7. Great bubble wrap project Beth, very creative!

  8. I’d love to type design on it

  9. Well it’s OK for a glance of a few seconds on stumbleupon, but given what it must cost to make I’d FAR rather have the money to spend on something else.

The novelty would wear off after only a few seconds, it already has on me in the time to write this.

  10. That would be very expensive to make.

  11. “me”

…your so right, i loved it and not in the same breath. It’s really cool to see it done in this fashion and koodos to the artist for the original idea..but, it doesn’t move me the way some art does.

  12. Since I saw this I’ve been looking to buy components to make one myself, only smaller. I must say it’s proving quite a challenge to find an economic option.
Well, I guess I’ll have to live with the envy… ;-)

  13. Cool, but too expensive to make. The cheapest switch I could find was 2$. So this would cost 10000$ plus frame and wiring.

  14. *clicks* “This was a triumph…”

  15. This is amazing! such creativity.

  16. having one of these will be fun. Its like I have a LED signboard but it is manual.

  17. Hello there, where can I see this piece now? Is it still around or into anyone’s private collection?

  18. Approx. £2 per switch.
Neon bulbs in each switch have a lifetime of approx. 2 years.
Nice idea but not at all practical

  19. Awesome! I really want one.
