Reasonable People
“Reasonable people adapt themselves to the world. Unreasonable people attempt to adapt the world to themselves. All progress, therefore, depends on unreasonable people.” – George Bernard Shaw

New Kids Tattlys

We just launched 4 new Kids Tattlys: 3D Boy by Oliver Jeffers, Childhood Memories by Domogenous, Octopus and Rocket Man by Jim Datz.
You’re wondering what Tattlys are? Designy Temporary Tattoos!
LED Bicycle Light
These detachable LED bike lights made me look. Stockholm-based Bookman considered the essentials: color block shape, cuved underside, oversized rubber button and a groove for the attaching elastic cord. Three flashing modes: slow, fast and steady. The front light flashes white; the taillight is red.
Robot Measuring Cup
It’s a robot built out of measuring cups. Yep. Very cool.
Cloud Swim Suit
Yes, I am holding on to summer. Adorable sky children swim suit.
Leaders
Leaders are not what many people think–people with huge crowds following them. Leaders are people who go their own way without caring, or even looking to see whether anyone is following them. “Leadership qualities” are not the qualities that enable people to attract followers, but those that enable them to do without them. They include, at the very least, courage, endurance, patience, humor, flexibility, resourcefulness, determination, a keen sense of reality, and the ability to keep a cool and clear head even when things are going badly. This is the opposite of the “charisma” that we hear so much about. – John Holt

Big Big Cursor
For all of you people missing ‘that cursor feeling’ when using your touch devices, there is help: BIG BIG CURSOR.
(I couldn’t help but chuckle at this product idea. No, I won’t buy it, but it made me smile.)
Say Something Nice
This ImprovEverywhere project is *so* New York. Made me smile.
(Thank you Bas)
Roll of Placemat and Napkins
Here’s a refreshing new take on placemats: Put them on a roll! They are made of 100% cotton and come on rolls of 12. The perforated cotton allows the user to simply tear a placemat or napkin off the roll as necessary. They can be laundered at least 6 times, and are recyclable and biodegradable.
LinusDean
I think I might just have found my new calling: Rugs.
Sydney based graphic designer Linus Dean said goodbye to his traditional graphic design job and started a rug business. And as come to expect, his rugs are type driven, bold and minimal. They make me swoon.
Linus is currently in Nepal trying to get a good understanding of the rug business and to build some new business relationships with manufacturers. Oh-so-exciting!
Linus gets my two thumbs up. I can’t decided which one is my favorite. I want them all.
Interview with Cameron Koczon
Here’s an interesting interview with my studiomate Cameron Koczon. He is one of the geniuses behind Fictive Kin, TeuxDeux, and Brooklyn Beta and talks about entrepreneurship, creating the ideal workspace, and why his latest app GimmeBar will radically change the way we curate content online.
3 Minutes with David Kelley (IDEO)
John Maeda recorded three minutes with David Kelley (IDEO) on what young artists and designers should know. I just kept nodding in agreement while listening.
The Dark Art of Pricing
The ever so fabulous and now bi-costal Jessica Hische wrote an interesting post on The Dark Art of Pricing. Recommended reading for every designer/illustrator.
CreativeMornings Video: Nicke Bergström
Last week we kicked off the Sweden chapter of CreativeMornings. Richard Feigin and his team organized the first CreativeMornings/Stockholm at the supercool looking Bianchi Cafe & Cycles with Nicke Bergström, Creative Director of VICE, as the speaker. Richard and his team are breaking all video speed limits as they already uploaded the talk on vimeo, English subtitles included. A big thank you to Nisse Emil Forest Axman and Oskar Törnros for the fantastic work on documenting this event! Hat tip off to Team Stockholm!

Museum Of Obsolete Objects
German Digital Agency Jung von Matt/Next created the “Museum of Obsolete Objects“. Sadly, as our daily lives become more and more digital some things fall by the way side as they are replaced by newer, «better» devices. Let us not forget those fallen appliances, tools and gadgets and relive those bygone times by taking a visit to The Museum of Obsolete Objects.
I love the idea behind the site but I don’t really understand why they built it as a YouTube Channel. Hmm..
(Thank you Boris)
