Oh, the (Swiss) memories that just flashed in front of my eyes upon discovering the Caran D’Ache Red Metal Pen over at Kaufmann Mercantile. Trust me, these pens are a pleasure to write with and last forever, as you can refill them easily. Two swissmiss thumbs up!

Best pens out there! I’ve got a black one. :)

They are awesome. I love Caran D’Ache. They are so well balanced, and are a really wonderful tool. The are available as Sid Mashburn too! http://www.sidmashburn.com/shop/extras.html

Does anyone know where to get the refills here in NY? Mine run out after having used it for way over a year – every single day. Love them, have mine for 5 years now and all paranoid about losing it one day!
Thx!

I got the Orange one, and my friend sport a neon green. Take a look into the tube while taken out the refill. You will be in awe.

My father loves these pens. He left one in Montreal and was so very sad to have lost it.

Useless trivia: ‘karandash’ is Russian for ‘pencil’. I thought that was a strange word for many years until I actually found out about Caran d’Ache. *lightbulb*

Caran d’ache – that brings back memories. I was given a tin of Caran d’ache pencils as a gift when I was a kid – simply beautiful.
