100 days of White

Brand Spirit is a project after my own heart: Every day for 100 days, Andrew Miller will paint one branded object white, removing all visual branding, reducing the object to its purest form. Each object may be purchased for less than $10.

YES! says the white-obsessed swissmiss!

  1. I was so confused when I read the “Each object may be purchased for less than $10.” I read it as, you can buy any of the artist’s white painted objects for < $10, so I was thinking, "Who the heck would pay $10 for one of those things?" But if you go to his website, it elaborates: all of the items he painted white are < $10, found by him, given to him, or something he already had. Which makes a lot more sense!

  2. Yay, love this project. I want to live in the spirit world :)

  3. Tina I’m glad we share in the love of all things white :) I have lots of fun things in the works for the next 91 days!

  4. I was thinking the same thing – who would buy a white penny for $10? The other explanation makes more sense!!

  5. What a cool idea! It’s interesting how the mind paints the rest. Mine does anyway… Look forward to seeing more of these!

  6. Ripped off from keri smith…

  7. That white is pure is dubious.

  8. Keri Smith is an inspiration! As is Noah Scalin. And I was definitely channeling George Segal. Nina, spirit #10 is for you, it’s hot hot hot!

  12. This is amazing. I can’t believe I didn’t know about it already. So cool.

  13. The idea is nice, but the execution is sorely lacking.
Many of the objects have competitors that use the same packaging. Not off to a great start.

A little frustrating as I’ve been trying to do everything to promote my project (http://kck.st/GBcrdW) that something that doesn’t seem as thought out to me is going viral over the web.

  15. Already set two as my office desktop backgrounds. So cool.
