Wordless Web

Wordless Web is a simple browser plug-in that makes the words on any site invisible, so the only thing left to see are the pictures.

No text means no context. You’re free to enjoy the images in their purest form, without names, labels, definitions, or purpose. File this under playful and not necessarily all that useful.

  1. How do i insert and image?

  2. It also seems to highlight all the ads in the screenshot you have here… hmm, interesting!

  3. This is very similar to a project done by artist Sarah Charlesworth in the 1970s, only she excised all the text from newspapers. The series followed stories–as told through the paper’s images–as they moved down below the fold or where re-featured with new developments. You can check out some examples on her website here: http://sarahcharlesworth.net/series-view.php?album_id=34&subalbum_id=2179. I think you will like them!

  4. It reminds me of Sarah Charelsworth’s ‘Herald Tribune’ series of artworks…
