Thoughts on Life and Getting Old

Do yourself a favor and listen to this interview between Terry Gross and Maurice Sendak. It’s the most moving conversation I think I have ever listened to. I had to listen to it 4 times in a row. Thank you Christoph Niemann for so beautifully illustrating the conversation. #ohsomoving

  4. Wow, thank you so much for posting this. What an amazing and moving interview.

  5. Terry’s interview style is a bit of ‘gobsmacked’ sometimes, but I love her just the same. :)

I remember this interview from the first time it aired on my local NPR station. I was driving back to work from a quick lunch at home and had to finally turn it off and wait to hear it on the rerun later that night.

It was a bit overwhelming. He seems like a man that has lived life and enjoyed his friends and those close to him. I am an agnostic and found his openness about those we love just being gone once they pass away heartbreaking. It is what I believe too, but still heartbreaking.

  6. Your blog continuously opens up possibilities and revelations in my mind. This was emotional, made me cry. Thank you x

  7. I instantly knew exactly the interview you were talking about. I heard it a few months back, and sent a gushing email to Terry/the show about how wonderful the interview was.
