  1. Re: Dove Video – Unfortunately this type of exercise just perpetuates the superficial definition of beauty. What’s on the “outside” (facial features, hair, skin color etc) is more important than inner beauty (character, integrity, heart, soul etc).

  2. Another opinion on the Dove “Beauty Sketches”, and one I agree with on Tumblr with 25,000 notes: Why Dove’s “Real Beauty Sketches” Video Makes Me Uncomfortable… and Kind of Makes Me Angry” http://jazzylittledrops.tumblr.com/post/48118645174/why-doves-real-beauty-sketches-video-makes-me

  3. I think that the Dove video is beautiful. I don’t think the video promotes the “outside” more than the inside. I believe that the video was trying to say that we are beautiful in the inside and it shows through our physical appearance. It’s about how we see ourselves and how confident we are about ourselves. That’s how I interpret the video. The message is clear despite there being little diversity (ie. a fat person, an old person etc). Beauty comes form the inside and it’s true. If you are beautiful in the inside, it shows on the outside as well. The energy that we have and how confident we are about ourselves, in fact how grateful we are to be ourselves, would affect how people see you.
