Dr. Jim Wither

Dr. Jim Wither’s operates his practice with a simple idea: The best way to care for the homeless is to treat them where they live.

I admire people like Dr. Jim Wither. And it makes me reflect on what I do. Is any of my work making a difference? Do I need to push my companies and their purpose harder into doing good? I think so.

(Thanks Kevin)

  1. It is easy to critique ourselves and worry that we aren’t doing enough. I won’t say that such reflection should be shied away from, and certainly this drive should be listened to, but do recognize the beauty and joy that you and your companies have brought into the world! As a follower of your blog and customer of your companies, I do hope that you know the many smiles you have caused and role you have played in many peoples’ lives.
(For example, I once told a boyfriend I loved him for the first time with a tattly!)

  2. Interesting coincidence.

German Stern TV featured a German MD doing the exact same thing, reaching out to the homeless and treating them right where they live, for free.

Good to see he’s not the only one. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Sorry for double commenting. What made it more interesting is the fact that they featured him just last night … forgot to mention above.

  4. There are only a handful of websites I’ve subscribed to since understanding what RSS was back in 2006. Yours is one. The difference you make to me might not be as life-changing as Jim helping the homeless, but it’s hard to put a price on making someone smile.
