Specialization

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
— Robert Heinlein

  1. I respectfully disagree. When we strive for greatness in all things, mediocrity tends to rear its face all too often. If you have a talent, do that one thing well. Do it to the best of your ability until you are known for that one thing. Then you’ll never work a day in your life.

  2. love this quote! thanks for sharing.

  3. A human being should be able to change a country, to fight, to sread the truth, to sacrifice their dreams, the food, to stop taking baths, to just have 2 meals a day, to skip buying milk, meat, bread, toilet paper, soap, rice, all the necessities, to inform others about the risk of living in a oppressing society, you can do whatever you want, later, you have to change the pen, the poems, the dreams, the songs, to sacrifice all that, and carry a gun against the motherfuckers that are killing us, to fight fire with fire, LOVE is death here, LOVE sucks, LOVE is for the weak, LOVE will just calm you for one minute, hour or a day, but when you HAVE NO FREEDOM THERE’S NO TIME OR SPACE FOR LOVE, JUST DEATH to the oppressors.

  4. @101010101 What??? Dude, take all the 1’s out from your username – and that’s how much sense you made. Man, Tina, you’re being infiltrated by the crazies.
