Comfort Zone

giphy-2

I am on a mission to push myself out of my comfort zone more often. Last week that resulted in taking an African Dance Class.

At some point, I want to do what the gentleman is doing above. Boy, that would sure make me uncomfortable.

What do you do to push yourself out of your comfort zone?

  1. I have to say that I recently was very surprised to read in one of your posts that you easily feel intimidated. I watched some YouTube videos and assumed you were not.
It’s something I recognize very much in my own life though. Especially now that I’m looking for a new job. The interviewers can scare the hell out of me.
I’m an introvert, so pushing myself out of my comfort zone is stepping up and saying ‘see what I can do’ or ‘listen to what I have to tell’ and show what I have in me but am too often to scared to show. If I don’t want to be hired for the mask I put on, I shouldn’t put it on. I have to be me and not feel like I have to appologize for any part of it.

  2. In December 2013, I went on a tough year-long journey to push myself out of my comfort zone. I’ve always been incredibly shy by nature and hated putting myself out there, but I decided to challenge that and went out every day for a full year to ask one person per day, “What did you learn today?” and as a result, had some incredible conversations with complete strangers. It has completely had a lasting impact on my life.

  3. Comfort zone is a good way of looking at it

I tend to work from the point of view Denial is a river in Egypt

  4. I push myself out of my comfort zone a lot. I worry about what would happen if I didn’t…

It started with going places alone, that seemed very scary a while ago.
I have also taken a swing dance class, performed in a storyslam, and cooked a dinner party for 8.
