Summer is in full swing here on my side of the planet. All I want to do is cover myself with this Pink Peony Tattly and lay in the grass!
(Did you know it this Tattly set is scented? It’s a visual perfume!)
Look, it’s a commercial, for Tattly!
Our studio community neighbors, Mac Premo and his team produced and directed the fun, colorful, and energetic Tattly commercial that will be played before the 5 Seconds Of Summer Summer 2016 tour performances in Toronto, New York, San Francisco and Dallas. We are talking BIIIIIIG screens! You will be able to find me in the audience of the NYC concert, most likely tearing up, when it comes on. Tattly sure keeps my life eventful!
Thank you Mac Premo and team. You are the best!
A few weeks ago I got a call from my friend Mark at MailChimp in which he asked: “What would you say if we made a commercial on Tattly for Viceland TV?” Needless to say, I nearly fell off my chair. Sure enough, a few weeks later, Vice and their huge crew showed up at Tattly HQ and filmed a day straight. And above is the end product, which you can also see here. How cool is MailChimp? For a small bootstrapped company like Tattly, generous PR gestures like this one are a big deal.
MailChimp was part of Tattly from the very beginning. In fact, when I started the project, almost five years ago, I ran out of money and didn’t have the funds to print the first batch of tattoos. Rusty who helped me at the time had the idea to add a sponsored bonus Tattly in every order. We pitched the idea to MailChimp and they said yes, which allowed us to get production going. Interesting fact: MailChimp knows the pain of being a bootstrapped company. They are still, years later, privately held, which I think you can sense when you pay a bit of attention. They are and have been generously supporting creative projects around the world. (I myself fall into this category also with CreativeMornings. MailChimp was our first global partner) I consider them a “angel investor of the creative world” not just with Tattly but with many other conferences, magazines, experimental-creative-you-name-it-proejcts. Their generous support is making a real difference.
Thank you MailChimp. Tattly (and the rest of the creative world) loves and appreciates you.
Their unique fragrance was created in collaboration with Agilex Fragrances, and includes notes of Dewy Fuchsia Petals, Pink Poppies, Ylang Ylang, and Poplar Wood. Next time, instead of a bouquet of flowers for that special someone, bring a Perennial Set instead.
Work at a fragrance house or beauty company? We also do custom tattoos with fragrance.
Over the past few months I have developed a slight Monstera leaf obsession and am happy to be wearing them on my skin now. Also, if you buy one this week, you’re entering a give-away for one of Vincent’s beautiful prints.
What an absolute honor to have been featured on The Today Show! NATIONAL TV EVERYONE! My heart! I am having all the feels! For a small bootstrapped company like Tattly, this is huge! I want to thank all the people involved in making this happen! I wish I could hug you all! Watching the segment made me tear up, here’s why.
Tattly just launched this stunning Watercolor Feather Set by Natasha Lawyer. So excited!
What an exciting last day of 2015 for team Tattly! Our Tattly Parlor is featured in The New York Times! Here’s the article. (Not to brag but we made the Style’s section twice in 6 months! Here’s the article from just a few months back.)
Team Tattly killed it in 2015: We moved offices, were part of the Easter Egg Roll at the White House, launched collaborations with Naughty Dog (of Sony) and Sesame Street, we were part of Art Basel, we brought old Masters back to life at Christie’s and opened a Tattoo Parlor. And we paid over $750,000 in royalties to our artists.
Time to celebrate! 2016 here we come!
Last Friday team Tattly launched a collaboration with Sesame Street! (Yes, my head is nearly exploding!)

Today’s a big day! Tattly turns 4! What was meant as a side project so my kids could walk around with cool temporary tattoos, designed by actual artists, illustrators and designers has taken off like a rocket. We are now in over 1,000 stores around the world including the Tate Modern Shop, MoMA, JCrew and have a roster of over 100 artists. Someone pinch me!
We’re celebrating the big milestone with our yearly “happy our birthday to you sale”: Now thru Monday, July 13th, take 50% off with code BDAYSUIT. This year’s The Super Set includes a gift from us: an advance offering of the upcoming Application Kit which includes a Tattly Sponge, Water Bottle, and an It’s Only Temporary Apron with a matching Tattly designed by Ladyfingers Letterpress.
It’s fun being 4, right?
Tattly recently started a new campaign called “Tattly Does Good”. They connect artists with not-for-profit organizations to create a Tattly which then will raise awareness and funds. In this case Tattly connected charity: water with artist Sean Tulgetske and the result is this design, called The Craziest Thing.
80% of the proceeds will go directly towards clean and safe drinking water in developing nations. You can do nothing, or you can wear this Tattly and feel great about it.
