First entry in my new category called ‘swiss made’ is the ZENA – Rex Economy Peeler. You’ll find it in pretty much every swiss household. It’s extremely functional and the design is perfect. Once you’ve tried one, you’ll believe me.
The ZENA Rex Economy peeler is the classic among the vegetable economy peelers. It has an economical, clean and exceptional well cutting flexible blade which adapts to all peeling goods. The SWISS MADE Economy peeler was invented in 1947 by Alfred Neweczeral and became a symbol for functional Swiss design. It is still produced at the old factory in 8910 Affoltern am Albis nearby Zurich.
Available at swissmade.com for CHF 6.50 approx. $4.95 (set of two)
We have i in Spain too!
It’s a useful thingie!!!

It looks like the simple and elegant solution that should be the standard.
Like this: http://www.alpharubicon.com/prepinfo/canopenermamabear.htm
It is a can opener that un-crimps the lid instead of cutting it: obvious when one thinks about it. It should have been the primary model since mass-produced cans hit the market.

I grew up with these and still use them, best peelers I have ever used. When it finally gives up through wear you can recycle it. ;)
Also grew up with Kuhn Rikon pressure cookers and in my opinion these are also the best.
