zena – rex economy peeler

Zena_rex_spar

First entry in my new category called ‘swiss made’ is the ZENA – Rex Economy Peeler. You’ll find it in pretty much every swiss household. It’s extremely functional and the design is perfect. Once you’ve tried one, you’ll believe me.

The ZENA Rex Economy peeler is the classic among the vegetable economy peelers. It has an economical, clean and exceptional well cutting flexible blade which adapts to all peeling goods. The SWISS MADE Economy peeler was invented in 1947 by Alfred Neweczeral and became a symbol for functional Swiss design. It is still produced at the old factory in 8910 Affoltern am Albis nearby Zurich.

Available at swissmade.com for CHF 6.50 approx. $4.95 (set of two)

twix ice cream bar

Twix_bigThat’s it. I am hooked. I just had a Twix ice cream bar for the firs time and I am ready to run down the street, to the deli, to stock up my freezer. Yeah, yeah, file it under pregnancy cravings if you like… but seriously, if you haven’t had one yet, you should! They are soooooooo good.

eNook

EnookeNook: It charges, it stores and it fits where you don’t have a lot of room. It’s called eNook, and it’s a very multi-talented workspace. eNook has channels for you to plug in and charge all of your electronic gadgetry, like your laptop, cell phones, PDAs and digital cameras. Flip it up to store your laptop and lock it out of sight. Or flip it down and you have a handy desk. eNook’s fabric-covered back panel even serves as a bulletin board. Choose from different color and fabric combinations to match any decor. Hey, it looks like your gear just found a home.”

I yet have to see one of these eNook Wall Mounted Laptop Work stations in real life to make up my mind if they are cool or not. I think they are, but would love to see how sturdy they are to sit and work at. The upcoming arrival of “Peanutella” will have me take out my desk from our second bedroom. I’ve been trying to find a minimal, elegant, tiny desk that we could put into our master bedroom. (I REALLY don’t like having a desk in my bedroom, but hey, no choice at this point). Seems like an impossible quest. The desk I currently have, is too wide and I am wondering if the eNook could be the solution… hmm. If only westelm would make the Pivot Table Workstation in a lighter wood.

bebe sounds portable mini fridge

Babies1st_1879_28897747I agree with Babygadget.net – this product is genious! The brilliant thing about the BebeSounds Portable Mini fridge is that at the flip of a switch, it can go from keeping your food and beverages cold, to keeping them hot. Great for car trips and no need for melting ice packs
