Truly inspiring photography by Denis Darzacq. Made me look.

What a beauty of a table! And what a smart design – I am all for furniture that collapses, expands etc! It’s by Thomas Sutter, a furniture designer based in Appenzell, Switzerland.
The busy life, by Jen Schuetz and Naz Hamid is a Photographic Excursion. Worth a visit.

The first issue of Monocle, the monthly magazine launched by Wallpaper creator Tyler Brule, was lampooned even before anyone had a chance to see it. But Juan Giner certainly likes it, calling “a reading pleasure” with its “unexpected topics” and lengthy articles in more than 200 pages. He says it’s “elegant, compelling, trendy, different… journalism at its best.” Edited by former Independent On Sunday features editor Andrew Tuck, it is printed in its own B5 size, which is slightly slimmer and shorter than A4, and it coss £5 a copy. Brule’s initial circulation target is 60,000 to 70,000.

Hop on the jumbo rocking horse sized for multiple riders…see how many you can saddle up! Perfect for parents needing to let the inner child out to play. (And perfect for tiny NYC apartments! Ha!)

I got my godson Thilo (in Switzerland) an Explorer Globe for christmas and I got to see it myself for the first time last week. (The power of the internet(s)!) All I can think now is that I want one myself. I could have spent hours checking out different countries, learn about population, capitols, bodies of water, time zones etc. I especially liked the quiz-mode where you have a certain amount of time to find as many countries as possible.
Explorer Globe What a smart toy. EllaBella, want one?
Was I a little birdy in my past life? I keep seeing bird feeders all over. Love these happy colorful Egg Bird Houses by J.Schatz. Also, very cool: the Egg bank.

Lazlo Kovacs, an illustrator I love, has relaunched his portfolio site. Very nice! Make sure to check the store section, there’s this cute little card saying: Sometimes I wish I were a lovely pink pig. Made me smile.
Simple design at its best. Pure Wood Toast Rack.
There are many reasons why Helvetica is so widespread. The most obvious being that a few weights have been bundled with the Mac OS for years. It is arguably the most respectable of the “default” fonts. But it’s also used because it’s a safe, neutral choice.
I love looking at these Dado Cubes. Me want! Me want! So much fun to be had! Available at Sparkability.
I comletely agree with Kate over at forme-foryou.com: Usually free fonts make me gag, but fontshop.com gives away a free font every month and this month’s font, Preface, aint too shabby. I haven’t had time to test it out, but so far I love the lowercase l’s. I’m a sucker for light sans serifs, such as Meta Light (oh look at that letter g!) and Helvetica Neue 25 Ultra Light, my staples at work. *drool*
