eames house of cards

Pulling from their pattern and picture decks of 1952, Charles and Ray Eames selected 32 images to create their House of Cards. The cards celebrate what the Eameses saw as familiar and nostalgic objects from the animal, mineral and vegetable kingdoms.

  1. funny, just last week I saw that “house of cards” in a boutique in zurich…and was wondering if I should buy it or not! I didn’t…
my total fav is “Hang it all” by Ch. Eames

  2. My mother bought me the House of Cards when I was a youngster in the late 1960s. At the time I didn’t know who Charles and Ray Eames were, but I loved the cards and the fact that they were such a mix of patterns and colors and “didn’t really go together” — I think part of the reason I don’t like things that match too much today is because of those cards! I still have them — one of the few things surviving from my childhood. Thanks for bringing back the fond memories. (I’m going to go dig them out of the closet and enjoy them again!)
