With INBOX PAUSE, you can put incoming email messages on hold, so they won’t appear in your Inbox until you are ready for them.
(Haven’t tried it yet, but will!)

The inbox is such a time burglar.
Unless I’m urgently waiting for a file, I’ve started a new system where I only check mail at the top of each hour. Two or three 15 minute periods per day are then set aside for responses (versus instantaneous). I save a ton of time.

Put your email program on “manual checks” an be ready for your incoming email messages whenever YOU like.
Of course, this works only if you use an email program for GMail but on the other hand it works for EVERY email account and not only for GMail.

Wait, we need an app to pause our email? Can’t we just close email?

I haven’t tried this yet but apparently it not only pauses email it lets the sender know that you haven’t received their email yet. pro or con? not really sure.
