question for my readers: marquee font

Picture_18

Can anyone of you point me to a ‘movie theatre marquee’ looking font? Thank you so much!

  1. I’ve used “Budmo Jiggler” before, though it’s not exactly like your picture.

    Found at dafont.com

  2. There are a few you could use…

    Beauty School Dropout II
    Little Deuce Coupe
    Facets NF
    Buenos Aires NF
    Coltaine

    all at dafont.com

    Gabi Butcher

  3. I have 3 suggestions:
These are pretty close, but would need some bevel/photoshop magic put on it probably to make them look more the picture.

Gotham – The font is based on old signs…

    Marquee –

  4. Try Big Noodle Titling, that font is nice.

  5. Its definitely going to be more about the beveling and what-not than the actual font, I would think.

  6. Dunno, but I’d like to see that movie, “Good Strang Abel”.

  7. Nobel!

  8. At http://betterfonts.com/ under the M you have a very typical Marquee under that same name (second page under M). That one is similar to the font for the musical Cabaret (with the circles inside) but more marquee than Cabaret.

Then in the same site you may want to browse under the B: the Bicyclefancy could be useful depending how you are planning to use them…

    Hope this helps :)

  9. You might get lucky with this font lookup tool: http://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

    Best,
    Pierre Bernard
    Houdah Software s.à r.l.

  10. fontdiner.com milwaukee, there’s 2 styles

  11. Since other folks have suggested some typefaces…

Probably these letter forms were based on Fruitger, and the beveling and dimension a function of the process used to make them.

Here are some real-life examples of those forms…

Of the above mentioned, I would have to say that while it is “flat” http://www.myfonts.com/fonts/cubanica/marquee/ is the best match.

Depending on what you’re trying to/need to do, it might be intersting to get a set of and photograph them.

  12. for my is very nice
