Riverside Park in my hometown had the rocket in the second photo… I remember it so distinctly. Of course, my favorite movies were Space Camp and Flight of the Navigator. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!

I played in that second picture on a playground in Detroit. It was not the 70′s, more like late 1990 but I can tell you it was amazing!!!! :)

We had a Rocket slide in my neighborhood (Ohio). It was great fun. Now everything has gobs of padding and is “non-threatening” in concept. Bleh.
