I love this camel grabbing toy that I bought for Ella. I do not understand though why the front leg is longer than the others and has a knot in it.. Hmm..

Without the knot and the longer front leg it would just have been a boring old camel. The knot earned it a photo and a post on your blog – maybe that was the intention ;)

the stripes are so not what you’d expect on a camel stuffy. super-sweet.
and, randomly, i had to comment because I just found you through, um, (rats!) — uh, the nursery at apartment therapy? yes. that’s where. (i blog too much.) and i just wanted to say, i really like this place. it’s cozy and fresh all at the same time.

The person who made this toy must have been to the camel market here in Egypt. Camel traders tie a front leg up so that the camels don’t run and cause a stampede.
I took a 360-degree photo in QuickTime VR which shows it:

My first thought was the knot was for ‘chewing’. I bet it would feel good to hunk down on that knot!

I think the knot is to give the effect of him walking? Not sure. BTW Great blog! I just came across this today and will be back regularly i am sure. Best wishes.
