This is so amazing! Portland Center Stage is doing a play called Apollo in January that’s all about Werner von Braun and his Nazi past (hint: without the Nazis, the United States would have never gotten to the moon!).
He was a dedicated Nazi, but the US had no ideological problems using him to further their own ends. The ends justify the means. (BTW, the Soviet space program was developed using German scientists as well, the US just kidnapped better scientists). Ironic, isn’t it?

i once met von braun’s daughter at a dinner party and then at another time his widow.
we drank werner’s white wine from his 1950’s collection.
my father who was an air raid warden in the 2nd world war in london that watched for rockets would have turned in his grave if he had known i had drunk the wine. thank you for the film – werner and his family where very pleasent people that is not what could be said for the furher
thanks keith

Yep, the ‘h’ is missing. BTW: His complete Name is »Wernher Magnus Maximilian Freiherr von Braun« — beautifull, isn’t it?
