I am loving some of the new features in New Safari 4 Browser (Beta). My favorite is the Top Sites Feature: Safari automatically identifies your favorite sites and displays them as a wall of stunning graphical previews. To visit one of your top sites, just click any of the previews. As you browse, Safari identifies the websites you’re most interested in based on how often and how recently you visit a site. So as you explore the web and discover new websites, your top sites will change to match your evolving tastes.
Check out this list of 150 Features. And if you want to experience them all, Download Safari 4 (Beta).
Wow, that is nice…kind of a step beyond Chrome.

Fun isn’t it?!!
I was just in Top Sites preview mode and watched the preview of SwissMiss switch from the Geometric Pattern post to the Safari 4 – an interesting echo experience.

I’ve been using it all day. It’s fantastic. Only thing missing that I’ve noticed is the blue progress bar that used to display in the URL slot. Oh, and it no longer works with Inquisitor plugin. Othewise: 5 stars!

I’m guessing they borrowed the display grid from Opera, who does that with their start up / top bookmarks page. I’ve been using/loving Opera for that reason over the last year, though looks like Safari did a lot more with it on the backend…

Top sites? umm…right..
FF already has that feature …and I don’t use it — my Top Sites are bookmarked in my BookmarksToolbar or Delicious etc ..I don’t need something to tell me my top 10, it’s quite clear

Is there any way to continually sync FF and Safari?
(something like foxmarks, but between browsers, as well as between computers)

It always seems like Opera puts the good ideas out there in a marginally attractive way (tab browsing, top sites display…) and then 2 -3 years later Safari and Firefox bring it out all new and sexy-fied.

Is it possible to make exceptions for several URLs?
Don’t want all friends, workmates etc to see EVERY site I’m visiting sometimes.. OK, more than sometimes. you know.

It’s a pity that after quitting and restarting it doesn’t seem to be able to reopen the tabs that were in use before it quit – it’s a very useful feature in FF for me. I hope it’s added to Safari 4 quite soon. Also, I prefer the refresh button to the left of the screen.
