Our little Ella is too little to understand what it means that Michael Jackson died yesterday. I am looking forward to the day when she is starting to get into music and I can share my collection of Michael Jackson songs with her. RIP Michael Jackson.

I’m the same age as Michael and I remember, aged about 10 in Johannesburg, South Africa when I first heard ABC by the Jackson 5. I was so struck by the wonderful voice of Michael and was sure it was a girl (called Michelle) – I just adored them. Fantastically talented boy-child.

I miss him terribly, but i look forward to the day when people know him only for his music rather than his (admittedly bizarre) personal life.
