“At the moment, our society’s notion of success is largely composed of two parts: money and power. But it’s time for a third metric, beyond money and power – one founded on well-being, wisdom, our ability to wonder, and to give back.”

Coming from a person that made a lot of money by not paying her journalists, this deserves a good laugh.
I’m not saying it’s not a good advice, just that she’s not the best person to give it.

Nice.
Ldom has a legitimate point, although to be fair it has to be said that she’s not doing anything on Huffington Post that isn’t being practiced by every other media outlet and blog, including this one.
And, whether you agree or disagree about it’s overall positive effect on our society, she certainly has given back by putting herself out there and expressing a viewpoint when she could have just stayed at home being rich.
In any case, she’s talking about what we should be doing next, not what we’ve been doing and she’s right.

@Daniel, what exactly do you mean with
” she’s not doing anything on Huffington Post that isn’t being practiced by every other media outlet and blog, including this one.”
Are you saying I am not paying contributors? I don’t have any contributors! I write everything myself on this blog. Or am I missing something?

I’m always surprised and somewhat saddened when people feel compelled to critique such a positive message because they have some personal issues with the one who said it. Just imagine the words were spoken by a person you admire and let the them soak in…you’d be a happier person if you did.
