I am impressed by the transparent information on manufacturing, price calculation and carbon footprint detail on honest by, a clothing e-commerce site. Take this coat for example: It took 32h to design and took 4 fittings, then 20min cutting time, 68min assembly time, 12min of ironing. The price calculation break down is nothing short of impressive.
I wish I could see this breakdown on clothing brand sites I shop on. It would clearly impact my purchasing decisions. Congrats to Bruno Pieters, founder of honest by for challenging the garment industry to be more transparent.

I think it’s inspirational and a fantastic idea- honest and transparent. The way to go for those manufacturers with nothing to hide and everything to gain.

Would love to see more of this from all retailers – online and offline.

I used to love to sew and became interested in custom shirtmaking. I mad a few (collared) shirts for myself and then, as usual, moved on to learn another skill. The bottom line? Whenever people fuss about the price of a good shirt, I tell them with a smile, “You have no idea what it took to make that shirt, get out your wallet.”
