Washing Machine Drum gone Firepit

wachine machine drum fire pit

I may have mentioned a similar tutorial before but I am so in love with the idea I had to point to Apartment Therapy’s recent post on how the size and shape of the drum inside a basic washing machine lends itself perfectly to being upcycled into a fire pit.

  1. My Dad uses one this way for twenty years now and I can only recommend it.

And if you happen to rip one out of an old washing machine, the window glass from the door happens to be a nearly indestructible big bowl for salads etc. So you should save this one too, while you’re at it.

  2. This is a great idea! The finished piece looks — somewhat surprisingly — fantastic and modern.

  11. There is a campsite at Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, UK that does exactly this. They have a pile of old drums for use as campfires.
