As someone who sets type for a living, I really wish that Punctuation Tips article gave more accurate information on dashes. Specifically, the difference between em and en dashes (what they’re calling a dash here is specifically an em dash), and how to actually type them. Not all programs will convert hyphen-hyphen to an em dash.
