Mont Saint-Michel looks like a fairytale castle, but it’s actually a French monastery. It’s on my list of places to visit one day.

How have you never been? Did you know there’s quicksand around it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mglr50ibXKg

Hello Tina, “le Mont Saint-Michel” is a beautiful place, in photograph.
It’s beauty and fairytale side has completely transformed into Disneyland. Parking welcome thousands of tourists who will eat in fake madieval restaurants and buy some horrible plastic memories.
Keep this beautiful picture in mind, it is much more beautiful than reality.
Excuse my very poor english, I’m a littel frenchy guy.
Continues to make us dream & take care.

I was just about to leave a comment to say that it is actually much worse than Disneyland and unfortunately not worth the trip, then I saw the remark above…

I would say, it is absolutely worth a visit, but don’t let it be the only destination but one of the many stations of a roadtrip or a longer trip.
Check my one week trip where “Mont Saint Michel” was only one of the many stations, and indeed it was remarkable and unforgettable.
(Cap de la Hague / Pointe du Hoc / Sainte-Mère-Église / American Cemetery / Omaha Beach / Barfleur / MONT SAINT MICHEL / Dol de Bretagne / Trans-la-forêt / Caen / Honfleur / Pont de Normandie / Maniquerville / Étretat / Rouen / Giverny)
Cheers!
