  1. I love your Friday link packs! I’ve been reading for a long time and always look forward to them, but have rudely never taken a moment to express appreciation :). The range of links is always really neat – the full sleep article was fascinating, and based on the reference in the “over-scheduled people” link, I’ve reserved the “Scarcity” book from my local library.

    I just showed the kid in the amazing balcony-pool to my (structural engineer) flatmate, and the basic takeaway was “eek.” Here’s hoping the folks who worked out the loadings were planning for people keeping some really big n heavy things on there on the regular :).
