Chalets of Switzerland
These photographs of Swiss houses by Patrick Lambertz stopped me in my tracks. Having grown up in Switzerland, this architecture is so deeply familiar and comforting. (The series is called Swiss Chalets, but I disagree, these are not chalets.)
Dear Tina,
thanks for showing my works in your blog. I used the word “Chalets” in the title on purpose, while it is certainly clear that those buildings don’t represent the stereotypical Chalet. The word “Chalet” originally comes from the latin Cala, which means nothing else than: House, barrack, wooden shed for cattle. I recommend reading the text about the series on my homepage to understand what’s behind the title. (https://www.patricklambertz.com/about-chalets-of-switzerland)
My goal was exactly to provoke reactions like the one in the comments.
Have a great day,
Patrick
