Created by Dutch designer Joonsoo Kim, the Cloud Umbrella is carried around in stick form, and then inflated into mini-cumulus clouds of protection when the rain starts to pour. Made me smile and want one.

This looks nice, but wouldn’t the rain just run around the surface of the clouds and drip down on you anyway? :P

Have to go with Jannis. If surface tension still works I think this umbrella might not do its job. I could be wrong.

I HATE traditional umbrellas – a flawed and dangerous design that for some reason has never been superceded.
Well this certainly has promise. Maybe the clouds would have to have a more defined edge on the underside to avoid the surface-tension problem, but mostly brilliant.
Prototype #2 please!
