Box Light is a lamp that can be manually adjusted by sliding the box open or closed. Lovely! Designed by Jonas Hakaniemi.
Very slick. Very minimalist, but not sure where this would be used.
The Frankfurt based architecture bureau “INDEX architekten” also designed a pretty nice light box for the Artemide anniversary last year:

It is occluding light to limit the output rather than reducing the power usage. Aesthetic as it maybe, it is quite wasteful because the same amount of power (5W) is is always used.
