Steve Lambert will talk with anyone about anything. People come up to his little pop-up-table and if they don’t know what they want to talk about he keeps a list of questions such as:
– how about this weather?
– what have you been up to lately?
– what are you doing after this?
– how are things?
This formula has lead to conversations with all kinds of strangers on topics from the weather to the Iranian revolution, Native American philosophy, agriculture, film, etc. I can understand why the table is very popular. I would like to talk to Steve. Maybe I can do the same thing virtually? Via Skype?

I think you would be a very busy woman if you did that.

i really like this idea, especially learning he first set it up a a job fair. he had a gallery showing at my school and gave a talk at the opening. two of our teachers set out to find the perfect table and set this up in a gallery and a boy in my class went one day and talked to a couple people for and hour or so.
the skye idea sounds like a pretty good idea too! i’m sure he would be up for it haha

I love this idea. I’ve always been the kind of person to ask what everyone’s up to and this sounds like a great way to indulge that. I think this world needs some people who are simply there to listen and converse :)

This project is over 5 years old. I don’t think Steve is sitting at that table anymore :)

I’m just wondering what the next guy at the other table is there for… can anyone read his sign? He seems a bit put off.
