I truly enjoyed this recent POP Tech talk by Jessica Lawrence in which she shares what she has learned about leadership from early teenage miscues through her tenure with the Girl Scouts of the USA and on to running NY Tech Meetup, the world’s largest meetup with over 40,000 members.
ha! this is interesting. part of what she says – working from anywhere anytime – seems so obvious. but it speaks to the common core of so many organisations – a lack of trust in employees. I’ve always wondered why non-profits choose to take this from the corporate world. I work at a huge international NGO, and we only have “co-working” hours during which we schedule meetings (and which end when schools let out), but apart from that, working hours are super flexible to make it easier for parents/commuters to come in and out.
how can you be any other way in a global job market and a tech-reliant world?
