  1. I can’t get beyond “reward your enemies.” The syntax suggests that the conversation, from its inception, is a manipulation rather than an exchange of equals. The author of this line, and presumably the rest of them, thinks of the one with whom they are conversant as a lesser being. We reward dogs we are training. We agree with other humans on some areas and disagree on others.
