That quote is suspect. It appears all over the Internet attributed to Seuss without source. It’s antithetical to everything I’ve ever read by or about the man. Rather than exploring the multifaceted wonders of inner and outer worlds it seems to suggest acceptance of the simple, a stop to questions, an end to creativity.
I asked Snopes to check the origin. I know they’re busy but Dr. Seuss seems like a nice distraction in the days of Trump so maybe they’ll look into it.
I took it more in the spirit that sometimes it’s hard to find the right question. Sometimes it takes years or lifetimes to come up with questions that seem obvious in hindsight. Even if they are complicated, we can go right on asking.
Swissmiss is an online garden Tina Roth Eisenberg started in 2005 and has lovingly tended to ever since.
Besides swissmiss, Tina founded and runs TeuxDeux, CreativeMornings and her Brooklyn based co-working community Friends Work Here. (She also started Tattly which was recently adopted by BIC)
