Calendar Scarf

This 2011 Calendar Scarf is a beauty. It’s almost poetic how you are supposed to pull on the yarn as time goes by. If I didn’t have kids, I’d totally put one of these on my walls. In fact, this is the first time I think I endorsed a wall calendar. I usually can’t stand them.

  1. I just saw this in person over the weekend – it’s so beautiful.

  2. I agree with you. I can’t stand wall calendars either (or any kind of calendars for that matter), but this one is really worth putting in the spotlight!

  3. This is fantastic! Kind of eerie in terms of watching time pass like that, but very cool

  4. So cool, I wanna/need one like that :P

  5. This is beautiful!

  6. Wonderful idea, but unrealistic if you have a cat or dog ;)

  7. This is absolutely a fabulous idea! Being an artist, I definitely would like to use a similar concept of design in the future! Beautiful!

  8. I agree about wall calendars generally sucking! However I think I’ve found a very clean, minimal design that you will love Tina: http://www.newzealanddesignblog.com/2010/08/assorted-sweets.html (scroll down to the bottom of the post)
    Nice, isn’t it!

  9. A very unique concept for a calendar! But I’m afraid my pet cat would adjust the date by several days or months in advance.

  10. Where can I order one? I tried the http://www.desigh-3000.de website and they don’t seem to have it in their catalogue.

  12. Great I’ve discovered it at Maison & Objet in Paris, I really love it !!!

  13. Somehow it should be knitted for the Winter months?? Just an idea!

  14. WOW! love it! that may make sad too

  15. But can you use the yarn at the end of the year to knit up a pair of socks? Think if the memories they would hold…

  17. I’d rather the calendar was unraveling from the other end too.

  18. Although this is a beautiful object, the knitter in me is screaming, ‘No!’ :0)

Eric – as a practical matter, you can’t unravel knitting from both ends.

  19. Kathleen, I am totally with you! I would wear it not tear it apart! It’s bad enough when we knitters make a mistake and have to rip up our work and start over. URGH! I would love to see if there is an actual pattern to make this.

  20. Isn’t it just a machine knit blank with the calendar printed on from bottom to top?

  21. I would absolutely buy one of these if there was a way / if I knew how?
