The world needs more MUDITA, the opposite of schadenfreude.
“Mudita is word from Sanskrit and Pali that has no counterpart in English. It means sympathetic or unselfish joy, or joy in the good fortune of others.”
(via Austin Kleon)
I LOVE this word!
How is it pronounced? I’d like to use it in conversation, but I don’t know how to say it.
It’s Sanskrit मुदिता, so it goes more or less like moo-dee-tah (two first vowels short, long „a”).
