I love this video, love Metric, love Emily Haines! You can download a free copy of the acoustic ‘Help I’m Alive’ from their http://ilovemetric.com/ website, if you’re interested.
I’m a huge fan of hers. But does it strike anyone odd that she talks about getting away/getting uncomplicated … and there she is being followed by a fairly extensive camera crew. There are some seriously set-up shots in this video. Just sayin is all …
I’ve never been one for Metric, but hearing the bare-bones acoustic of that song was quite compelling. There’s a richness that I think is lost when you add on all the electronics. I always enjoy hearing about the creative process for different artists; it allows you to really value the struggles and the insight commonly overlooked when one is in a rut.

Besides swissmiss, Tina founded and runs TeuxDeux, CreativeMornings and her Brooklyn based co-working community Friends Work Here. (She also started Tattly which was recently adopted by BIC)

I love the line about ‘too much context’. It’s very hard to be a member of your own audience.
