Jonathan Hoefler just delivered fabulous news to my inbox: “Fans of our Gotham typeface will be pleased to find that as of this morning, there are three times as many Gothams in the world as there were yesterday.” Hooray!

Anonymous Postcard: Claims

Anonymouspostcard

Anonymous Postcard is a suggestion box for the world, designed to allow anyone to openly communicate to a third party without the complications of personal contact. Claims submitted by the public are turned into vague and largely indecipherable postcards and mailed toward the intended recipients. Tucker Nichols founded Anonymous Postcard in August 2008 in partnership with his friend Dakin Hart. Beautiful! And now, Submit a Claim!

(Thank you Susan!)

Last night, I watched A Hole in a Fence which plays in Red Hook, Brooklyn and was filmed in Spring 2006, Pre-Ikea. Living in a neighboring neighborhood to Red Hook and having gone to IKEA many times already, this documentary hit home.

Optimism

“Optimism is a strategy for making a better future. Because unless you believe that the future can be better, it’s unlikely you will step up and take responsibility for making it so. If you assume that there’s no hope, you guarantee that there will be no hope. If you assume that there is an instinct for freedom, there are opportunities to change things, there’s a chance you may contribute to making a better world. The choice is yours.”
