20 Hangers

Made of 20 common wood hangers and black ropes, this wardrobe has serious sculptural appeal. Hat tip to Alice Rosignoli. Made me look.

Muller Van Severen

I love this minimal book-desk-combo by Muller Van Severen, spotted over on ilovebelgium.be

LinusDean

I think I might just have found my new calling: Rugs.

Sydney based graphic designer Linus Dean said goodbye to his traditional graphic design job and started a rug business. And as come to expect, his rugs are type driven, bold and minimal. They make me swoon.

Linus is currently in Nepal trying to get a good understanding of the rug business and to build some new business relationships with manufacturers. Oh-so-exciting!

Linus gets my two thumbs up. I can’t decided which one is my favorite. I want them all.

20 Essentials

20essentials is a Belgium based pop-up concept with a selection of carefully picked products by a ‘little more’ or a ‘special twist’. The products are different in their concept, shape, material and functionalities and are an attempt to meet 20 of our most basic, daily needs, such as sitting, sleeping, transport, …

20 Essentials is located in Knokke, Belgium. Wish I could stop by. Lovely idea.

Pet Stool

I am not entirely sure why I am so intrigued by the Pet Stool but it sure made me look. It’s the final student project by Israel based Industrial Designer Eyal Hirsh.

Magazine Stack Stool

This Magazine Stack Stool by Sut Kutusu is totally clever and made me smile.

(thank you Marc)

Echo Toddler Bed

I just gasped for air. The Echo Toddler Bed is a beauty. (and yes, pricy)

Forest Stool

I have my filters set out to find a good-looking stool and this one, by Arik Levy, caught my eye.

Architect Desk

This Architect Desk by Michael Solheim is a beauty. My kids sure would love the chalkboard surface.

Polia Wall Sconces

The Polia P and G wall sconces look like file folders or stacks of paper peeling away from the wall. They were designed by Manuel Vivian for Axo Light. Lovely!

Piano Hanger

I just fell head over heels in love with a coat rack. The Piano Hanger is making me swoon. It was designed by Patrick Seha for the Belgian company Feld. What I love most about the Piano Hanger is that it is completely flat when not in use. Unfold numerous hooks as you need them, or hide them, when not. Brilliant! And the different levels make it completely child-friendly. Even our 17-month old Tilo could hang his jacket. And how good would this look in our studio? OH MY!

Nexo

Here’s a refreshing approach to small space living: Nexo turns your dirty laundry into a stool cushion.

Curt Deck Chair

I just discovered this deck chair called Curt in my submissions folder. Interesting concept by Bernhard Burkard.

Magazine House

MAGAZIN is a beauty of a magazine stand in shape of a house. Not finished with your reading? Just lay the open magazine on the roof of the house, and you can easily pick it up again to carry on reading, without loosing the page. Meanwhile your other favorite magazines can be stored ‘inside the house’.

Wishlisted!

cBox

The cBox is a multifunctional, mobile storage unit that would look quite lovely in our studio. The cushion on the top turns the storage unit into and extra seating area for impromptu brainstorming session. Designed by Gianmarco Blini. Two thumbs up!

Field Kitchen

This field kitchen would come in really handy at casa swissmiss these days. Why? Well, for the past 6 weeks G, our kids and I have been living in a tiny fraction of our new apartment, sans kitchen, as we are doing construction on the rest of it. Interesting set-up, to say the least. Having to make do with a microwave and a tiny fride, I am literally having dreams of owning a stove!

So, discovering this Field Kitchen in my submissions inbox made me chuckle and realize just how desperate I am to cook my own food again.

Leander Stool Set

Leander creates the most stunning children’s furniture around. Consider me a fan. First came the crib/toddler bed, that had me gasp for air and now the Leander Stool Set. Totally wishlisted for casa swissmiss. Hat tip off to Designer Tina Schmidt.

Nightstand

PIN-UP Magazine and Phillips de Pury & Company recently embarked on an interesting quest – to reinvent the nightstand. Eleven designers submitted ideas and the one above, by Leon Ransmeier, is by far my favorite. See them all over on Shoeboxdwelling.

Cloud Lamp

I don’t think I have ever been as excited about a lamp. Ever. Zhao Liping’s Cloud Lamp won my heart.

(thank you Maria and Kirstin)

Cardboard Sheep

A cardboard sheep shelf? Yes, please!

Rocking Lamp

Slightly silly and therefore wonderful: Rocking Lamps, by Miniheart.

KartonKlunker

KARTONKLUNKER is an assembly set of a cardboard chandelier. You read right, a cardboard chandelier. Thankfully there is no glue or any other tools necessary to assemble this beauty of a ceiling mounted lighting source.

KARTONKLUNKER is the first lamp by Rainer & Tobiad Kyburz, creating a playful contrast between the ordinary cardboard material and the luxurious object of a chandelier. It’s a Swiss product, through and through; designed, produced and boxed up in Basel, Switzerland.

I don’t know about you, but this chandelier made me smile. Two swissmiss thumbs up! Oh, and watch the assembly video below:

Wood Peg

Wood Peg, by Studio Gorms, is quite a refreshing furniture concept. It’s a flexible furniture system made up of simple components, which can be assembled in a variety of ways to accommodate a multitude of scenarios. It can be just as easily disassembled, using no tools or fasteners. All components can be hung from a peg rail on the wall creating pleasing abstract compositions. Made me look.
