I *love* it. Hat tip to TwelveSouth! (Must go on my wishlist asap!)
During an interesting Sandbox Dinner last night, David from Holstee mentioned this Augmented ID, a TAT concept that visualizes the digital identities of people you meet in real life. With a mobile device and face recognition software from Polar Rose, Augmented ID enables you to discover selected information about people around you. All users control their own augmented appearance, by selecting the content and social network links they want show to others. Modifying your augmented ID is easier than fixing your hair in real life and, of course, TAT Cascades will make sure you look great!

For those that follow my blog closely, they know that I am a big fan of Geneva Sound Systems. I have the GenevaSound XL in my studio and the GenevaSound M at home. Last summer, two weeks into our Switzerland trip, I looked at my husband and said: “I want to go home, I miss my Genevas!”
And yes, for full disclosure, Geneva is currently my client and we are *this* close to launching their new e-commerce site. But, I couldn’t wait to share the latest model that they just came out with, the supersmall GenevaSound S. I was lucky enough to get a demo in my studio and I was blown away, by how small the S is and how cool the swivveling dock is at the top. When not in use, the iPod dock disappears. And the TouchLight Controls are just the ultimate cool. The GenvaSound S is definitely on my wishlist to get for our bedroom!
(Now if only I didn’t have to link to their old site and our new one was already up, sigh!)
I bought this LEGO CD Boombox for little Ella yesterday. I hope she is going to be as excited about it as I am. Way cool for a kids room, no?
My reader Joshua Longbrake found this beauty of an Elgin clock-radio at Goodwill for $2.99. And lucky him it works perfectly, including the crackly radio. He offers the image as a desktop wallpaper. Lovely.
Made me smile: Classic Volkswagen bus-style speaker with a port and cable for playing your iPod. Functional wheels; flashing head and taillights and horn sound option; volume control; radio pre-sets; digital clock at the rear window
I agree with @EliHorne, I would love one of these 100% Waterproof Laptop Bags by Haglöfs.
Joey Roth, the force behind the much talked about Sorapot now has come out with a new, non tea-related product: Ceramic Speakers.
The Ceramic Speakers are made from porcelain, cork, and Baltic birch. Each material is minimally finished, left to add its natural beauty to the design. The included amplifier is made from stainless steel sheet metal, with a cast iron base and paulownia volume slider. Aside from the electronic components, plastic is completely avoided in the system’s construction.
This simplification of two remotes made me smile.
Under or on the desk, next to the computer, or behind the TV, loose tangled cables are always untidy dust traps. CableBox is the solution to solve these issues. Simply place your power strips or surge protector inside CableBox. No need to unplug anything first. Then stow away the surplus cable lengths, close the lid and done. Designed with cable outlets either side of the box, CableBox will fit almost every size power strip with extra space for the cords, adapters, etc. BlueLounge Cable Box hides your cable mess. Yes, please! Ordered!
Tree of Charge: While the cell phone, digital camera and mp3 player charge their batteries under the tree, the bothersome main adapters are hidden inside. The tree functions as a key rack and magnet board. and with the photos of your loved ones, it becomes a family tree. Made me smile.
This made me smile: Use an old cassette tape as an iPod case. Yay for retro.
Last Year’s Model was created by Anil Dash and is trying to save the planet through sheer laziness. Last year’s model’s members love cool gadgets as much as anybody else. They just want to be thoughtful about the stuff they have bought. Even the most cutting-edge, tech-savvy geeks in the world are choosing to hang on to their phones or their iPods that still work just fine. (I still haven’t upgraded my big clunky 2nd generation iPod. Not kidding!)
What about you? Are you sticking with last year’s model?
(thank you kavita)
While we are at the topic of iPhone Cases. What about this Longhorn Slip Cover for iPhone?
(thank you manuel)
The Brompton is definitely one of the most amazing (and expensive) folding bikes out there. This Brompton Child Seat Hack made me look!
